WHAT ARE PERMANENT BROWS?
Please remove from your mind the horrific images you may have seen of heavily tattooed or microblading eyebrows! We've all heard (or seen) the horror stories... Blue, Black, Green or even Red pigment that's been left in someone's skin or brows that look more like 'angry bird' then soft beautiful face framers! Believe me, no ones brows should be walking into the room before them.
Medical grade Pigment is inserted into the top layer of your skin to look like hair strokes or powder like makeup, giving you brows that can last anywhere between 9 months - 3 years. These are considered cosmetic treatments and aren't as deep as traditional tattoos - which means the pigment can fade over time; unlike traditional tattoos where the ink stays in the dermal layer forever.
I DO NOT recommend traditional tattoo methods or the ink which is used for these on the face, so please - whether you choose to book in with me or not, please please do your research as a lot of these images circulating online are results of the wrong methods, tools, pigment and artistry (or lack of) being used - more then likely from other countries as this isn't common practise in the UK... but still, always ask to see technicians portfolios, find out where they trained (and how long for), ask for images of healed results and find out as much as you can. Don't be tempted by people offering the service considerably cheaper - this is your beautiful face and it deserves the best.
You would have come across many different terms for Semi permanent or permanent brow methods and styles, such as - Combination Brows, Powder, Ombre, microblading (both manual with a tool or by a machine) Hyper-realism or micro pigmentation. You might already be familiar with each of these and what they look like, but if not; Don't worry! Its what I'm here for. I can guide you and explain which will be right for you based on your preferences and how you'd like them to look at your consultation.
In a nutshell, semi permanent brows should look like your ideal shape which is tailored and suited to your bone structure, face and eye shape and most importantly - your style! Everyone's version of natural is different, which is why no treatment will go ahead with me, until we've had a thorough face to face consultation and I've given your brows a makeup transformation first, so that you can see ahead of time how they will look and make you feel before anything more permanent is carried out. #
Please ensure you are familiar with the terms and conditions and permanent makeup artists duty of care of this treatment before booking in.
MICROBLADING
The semi permanent brows Microblading method is what's accelerated my name in the industry and probably what I am most known for, because my results are natural and the hair-like strokes have movement. I've dedicated my time to practising different hair growth patterns, so some people find it difficult to distinguish between the microbladed stroke and the real eyebrow hair, which is exactly what we want to achieve the most realist results possible.
A handheld tool or machine is used to embroider pigment into the upper layers of the skin to fill in any sparse areas, as well as to rebuild a new shape or create the desired fullness and design of the eyebrows. Individual hairlike strokes are implanted throughout the brows in the direction of your natural hair growth to create the most natural looking and enhanced shape.
We are always looking for the "perfect eyebrow", which is generally our natural brow shape after professional grooming. This does not mean that the natural eyebrow shape cannot be reshaped to flatter you.
With more than a decade of experience in makeup, I work to apply my existing skill and knowledge of facial anatomy, bone structure, skin tones and colour theory to design and embroider the ideal brows for each individual.
Whether you want to choose a slightly altered or keep your existing shape, professional grooming is crucial for a more harmonious appearance. Because I understand the geometry of faces, I'll use measurements accordingly to create the most flattering brow that is as individual as you are! 'Realism' in microblading eyebrows achieves the ultimate natural finish, with brows that buck the trends and will NEVER go out of style.
Results last 1-3 years. All bookings include a consultation, where all your questions can be answered and the treatment is thoroughly explained before committing to the appointment.
UNSUITABLE SKIN TYPES FOR MICROBLADING...
Very oily skin and/or very large pores on your forehead won't be suitable for eyebrow embroidery because the additional oils in the border between the Epidermis and Dermis may cause your skin to reject the pigment or strokes may heal very powdery/fuzzy with loss of detail. Oilier skin will also need frequent touch-ups.
Heavily sun-damaged, very delicate, fragile, sensitive or problematic skin won't be suitable for Microblading, nor if you have skin conditions such as Eczema, Psoriasis, Rosacea, heavy Melasma. If any of these are present on the face, it will affect the retention and longevity of microbladed brows.
While permanent makeup is suitable for most people, there are some individuals who are not eligible for these treatments. Please read the below to evaluate if you are an eligible candidate as they apply to all the treatments offered at L R PRO, including: Microblading, Fusion brow, Combination brow, ombre / powder brows and Hyperrealism brows.
If you have booked for a consultation and patch test, but any of the below apply to you, then unfortunately you’ll need to cancel your consultation as I wont be able to proceed with the treatment.
Ineligible without exception:
Please inform me of the following if any of the following apply. You may be eligible with a GP/ Doctor / consultant note to go ahead with treatment:
Permanent cosmetic treatments normally require multiple treatment sessions. For best results, you will be required to return for at least one retouch treatment between 8 - 12 weeks after the initial treatment.
You will be booked in for this Top up following your initial first appointment. By booking this in, you are agreeing and committing to the follow up and agreed time / date.
If for any reason you are no longer available to attend your follow up appointment and need to cancel or reschedule this for a later date which takes you past the 12 week period, then you will be required to pay an additional fee as your appointment past 12 weeks is no longer classed as a ‘top up’ because additional work will be needed.
Lucy at L R PRO operates a tight and busy schedule, getting booked months in advance - so may not be able to accommodate your request to change the time and date of the original follow up (aka top up) if L R PRO is fully booked within that 12 week period and you still wish to change, the charge remains applicable.
Be prepared for the colour intensity to be significantly sharper and darker immediately after the procedure. This will subside and become lighter as the tissue heals. This process can take up to 10 days.

This immediate aftercare will need to be referred to by yourself following your treatment. Please remember that I have developed this guide to help you the very best I can. Everyone’s immune system is different and people will heal at different rates / intensities. This guide is exactly that - a guide.
You may experience some of the stages sooner or later depending on your own body, immune systems and medications. I have also included an image of what the scabbing process looks like - this also varies person to person. Some notice it and others don’t, but it’s here to help prepare and re assure you of what to look out for.
This is everything that would have been explained to your following your treatment.
Please ensure you check your aftercare guide or healing guide before messaging Lucy or L R PRO with questions or concerns as the majority of the time they are answered or stated on this very thorough information pack for you.
To be followed following your new Permanent Brow procedure
Proper aftercare is extremely important following your treatment. While the work is carried out by me at your appointment, how you look after them will determine your final results; so please follow my instructions carefully to achieve the best possible results for your brows.
The initial healing period is 14 days (2 weeks) During this time, please keep your brows dry and follow this advice for the 2 weeks ....
- No Sunbeds or exposure to direct sunlight
- No swimming, saunas, steam rooms
- No skincare or makeup to be applied on or around them
- No physical activity (exercising such as cardio) This includes the gym/ classes and weight training. You will sweat, whether you see it or not and this can cause complications, such as infection, your skin to push the pigment out and poor retention and / or results which cant be amended at the top up
- Avoid touching the brows as you don't want to run the risk of bacteria entering the skin.
All tattoos carry the inherent risk of infection and/or allergic reaction. These aftercare instructions have been put in place for your benefit. You've invested in your eyebrows and face so please follow through with the whole process.
After this 2 week period, you can carry on your life as normal and can treat your brows the same way you normally would.
IMMEDIATE AFTERCARE
- 48 hrs after your treatment, please use a damp cotton bud with a bit of water and wipe each brow clean. Pat dry with a towel or tissue and then apply the gel given to you at your appointment to your brows. This is to be done in the evening. Apply a small rice grain - pea sized amount to each brow. This gel will help cool, soothe and heal your brows. This cleanse only needs to be done once in 48 hours. Following this, the ointment should be applied every night for the remainder of the 2 weeks (12 x nights) Apply using clean fingers or preferably a cotton swab.
Remember to only use a small amount of the gel, you don't need a lot. Its really important not to pick or scratch at the scabs, allow your skin to naturally exfoliate them off.
Please remember to keep this tube of gel safe as you will need to use this again at your top up appointment. You may purchase an additional tube if you wish.
IMPORTANT: Please follow my guidelines. You can wash your brows and treat them like normal from day 15 - even if you still have some micro scabs (dry/flaky skin) You can continue with your normal skincare routine and products from day 15. Please don't avoid washing your brows from day 15 and go against my advice as this will impact your results and could cause problems.
PLEASE TAKE NOTE: It is normal for the brows to change following your first treatment. Strokes, colour, patches etc. This is why you have a second appointment booked in. Please be patient and trust your treatment plan. Your final results will be after your second treatment (aka ‘top up’)
Here is an example of what the brows look like when they are healing and "at their worst" It isn't really noticeable to anyone else so this is nothing to be worried about! Close up you will see each hairstroke becomes slightly darker as it scabs and flakes off - revealing the healed colour underneath.
